Sits in Scars

This poem was inspired by the above ‘writing prompt’ image
There is a storm that wails within, and I am at sea.
My ship, my curse; wrecked and rebuilt
On ceaseless tides with bodies floating by
They sailed once with me.
There are some who fell, some pushed, some jumped and climbed aboard again
It’s a hard swim to safer shores
But the humdrum’s beat can sing like a Siren’s song
To souls whose thrills bring pain.
There is a child who sits in scars on a hollow throne.
How far you’ve come boy - so far to fall
But you were always good at falling
Some things, it seems, take root too soon to be outgrown.

Beautiful. Melancholic verses that speak to a hero's journey and the pain of the inner child. I hope you write more!

Wave crushes the broken heart

Over and over

May the silent light lead one to shore

(Randomly prompted by your image)

& Thank you for sharing your poem. :)
