How To Learn Anything Fast: Imitate, Then F*ck It Up (pt. 1)
Brains, BS and Everything in Between
Chauffeur Brain
Max Planck. Sound familiar? If you paid attention in physics class then well done. In the year 1918, during his lecture circuit across Germany, Planck found himself delivering the same quantum mechanics talk repeatedly. This routine became so familiar that even his chauffeur could recite it verbatim.
One day, amidst Planck’s constant (yes, I went there) repetition, the chauffeur jokingly suggested that he could easily take Planck’s place on the podium, having memorised the lecture in its entirety. Delighted by this unusual proposition, Planck agreed. Thus, in a Munich auditorium filled with esteemed scholars, an extraordinary scene unfolded: the chauffeur confidently took the stage, eloquently presenting the lecture, while Planck, adorned with a chauffeur's cap, observed from the front row.
The twist came when a physics professor in the audience rose to pose a question. Without missing a beat, the chauffeur responded with feigned surprise, remarking on the simplicity of the query from a city known for its intellectual prowess. He retorted, “That question is so easy that my chauffeur will answer it!”
