Provocation for thought! And what if we change our perspectives, to see more things as fun?

This was surprisingly fun to read... I'm now going to get rid of any of the no-fun elements in my life... Starting with those particularly worn pairs of socks (that I have been putting off throwing away) at the back of my drawer that have since lost all their comfort, take up too much drawer space and are quite frankly... Annoying to pull out of there everyday.

What if, in hindsight, overcoming pain is fun?

What if the negative, once a boast, is a positive?

Are all things then fun?

I find it very difficult to determine when I'm having fun actually.

Because perspective changes my opinion, so I distrust things in the moment and do notice things slip so easily in every second. Boredom can prop itself up at any moment, and my amusement turn to frustration.

Uncanny amusement i may feel when someone is relaying my stupidity someone else enjoyed much later on. In the moment, I may have been feeling nothing, but... If I enjoy how it made someone else feel, was it then enjoyable for me? Even if it was not what I find fun.

What is fun?

Does enthusiasm in the big 10 need to be involved for it to be fun? Do introverts define fun differently then? So fascinating.

I think, fundamentally, most people don't realize when they are having fun until later. They are just, "doing".

When learning to ride my bike. I realized that the learning portion, leads to the fun portion. One must have mastery before understanding how to enjoy it. Enjoyment comes with ease. It may be that we sometimes don't do, what we know, to enjoy it. When we are looking for growth.

Is then, nostalgia, the definition of fun?

So the term I always found intriguing: the law of diminishing returns first heard in a Stoppard play when something fun (or pleasurable) loses its enjoyment over time. As I do find that to be true; after a while you need a break from 'fun' and do something tedious so the fun feels like fun again. The lamplighter story though...eeep!! Which is why I got out of the corporate rat race a long time ago! 😬
